Conservative executives in several US territories have placed National Guard personnel on alert ahead of widespread demonstrations challenging Donald Trump and his policies.

Coordinators of the "Anti-Monarchy" campaign stated that gatherings are planned at exceeding 2,500 venues across the nation.

According to protest coordinators, the prior Anti-Authoritarian protest in June attracted over five million demonstrators protesting Trump's governmental agenda.

Local Responses

Executives in Texas and Virginia have publicly mobilized their regional National Guard troops, though the level of armed forces involvement remains unclear.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott mentioned the "planned antifa-linked rally" as reasoning for mobilizing state military personnel.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin similarly ordered mobilization of the commonwealth's National Guard forces.

Political Statements

Rally leaders characterized the events as resistance to Trump's "authoritarianism."

"The president thinks his authority is unlimited," organizers claim on their website.

"But in the United States, we reject monarchs and we refuse to yield against turmoil, dishonesty, and brutality."

Some GOP members have dubbed the demonstrations as "Anti-American" assemblies.

Kansas Senator Roger Marshall reportedly commented prior to the demonstrations: "We'll have to deploy the National Guard."

"Hopefully it'll be non-violent. I have reservations," he added.

Democratic Response

Democratic figures criticized the activation of military personnel.

Texas Democrat Gene Wu argued: "Dispatching armed troops to suppress calm rallies is exactly what dictators and dictators do — and Greg Abbott just proved he's among them."
