I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
