The concluding season of Netflix's otherworldly smash hit the hit series is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year. The first part airs on the 27th of November, but a sneak peek of the chilling first five minutes has been released online.
The Crawl: An Echo to the 1980s
The episode, named the opening chapter, transports viewers back to the start of the series in the year 1983, after the loss of the boy.
"Do I remain or leave?" Will sings in an effort to remain composed in the alternate dimension.
The situation rapidly turns frightening the moment a demogorgon appears and drags the character to the lair of the villain. "Finally, it's time to commence," he says to the youth while propelling a plant-like appendage through his esophagus. "You and I, we will accomplish such beautiful things as one."
Air Dates and Cinematic Screenings
The concluding half of the final series will be broadcast on December 26, and the final episode available on January 1 – which will also be shown in select theaters.
Plot Summary
The synopsis reads: "The autumn of the late '80s. Hawkins is damaged by the creation of dimensional tears, and the main characters join forces by one objective: find and kill the enemy. However his location is unknown – where he is and plans a mystery. Adding to the task, officials has placed the community under armed isolation and stepped up its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. While the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does an intense, known fear. The final battle is approaching – and with it, a malevolence stronger and more lethal than anything they have battled in the past. To conclude this terror, it will take all members – the full party – standing together, once more."
Production Insights
The surprise clip was posted online after the series' Hollywood event on Thursday, featuring actors like one of the main stars and another key actor.
"The size of this installment is bigger … It features heightened thrills and increased visual effects, however it is likewise by far the most heartfelt series since it's the end of the narrative for the entire cast," the production's executive producer, noted regarding the last chapters.
The other creator and co-creator, added: "Releasing it to the public is anxiety-inducing, but we feel equipped to unveil it finally."
